11/11/2016 0 Comments My Classroom Rules!!!!For my classroom rules I want to have an enjoyable and fun classroom but I would make sure that the kids know that these 10 rules are the rules in which they need to follow in order for our classroom to maintain a happy and joyful atmosphere. When creating my classroom rules I just wanted to get an overall look at the classroom. I didn't go into detail but just simply said respect me, your peers, the classroom, yourself, and we will have a great year! If for some reason one of my students breaks a rule I would take the following steps depending on the degree of the action. Possibly moving of colors from blue to green would happen or possibly losing dojo points. For good behavior or rewards I would do maybe some kind of chart like the one above and then once they get to a certain point they can receive rewards such as "hat day" or maybe "bring a snack".

11/10/2016 0 Comments What is Ethics?"Ethics describes how you act, not only in public, but when no one is looking."
This quote is actually spot on and really connects with children and teenagers today. Being in high school I see a lot of this when students are given the opportunity to work outside or the teacher feels okay to leave the room with a class inside, that is because of ethics. The teacher sees that the children will make good ethic choices and will "act well when no one is looking." I hope this becomes the case in elementary schools and actually I am seeing it start already. Those students who work by themselves and do their work when asked to and sometimes when not even asked to are the students that are being an example to others and showing their ethic standards!!! 11/4/2016 0 Comments What is Pedagogy?Pedagogy is what a teacher does to influence learning in others which can be done with what is known in Texas as TEKS. TEKS stands for Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. They are a set of skills that the state of Texas has determined are essential for each student to learn. Each grade level has a very specific set of TEKS for each content area. Above is a short expert of some of the TEKS that 1st grade students are required to teach by the end of the year. My teacher gets together with her other colleagues for the same grade level and they discuss how so accurately accomplish each of these requirements for each subject.
