2/1/2018 0 Comments The leader in me!Leadership Observed: For me, I think in order to be a great teacher you need to be a leader and have leadership skills in order to control a classroom, talk in you grade meetings with the other teachers, and overall teach a classroom full of students. 1. I distinctly remember my 3rd grade teacher, Ms. Lemons, was an amazing teacher and leader. She was a role model for us to look up to and we wanted to listen to her because she showed us that she was the teacher and we are students. In order for us to learn she needed to lead and we needed to follow. That year I had just moved to Texas from Arizona and she showed me how to lead a classroom and teach students at the same time. I learned a lot that year. 2. Another example of a great leader and teacher is Ron Clark in the Ron Clark movie. He went to teach and a low school in a very difficult class and he displayed great leadership qualities that helped him to turn that crazy classroom into a safe, loving room where the students listened and respected their teacher. 3. I also think a great leader is someone who steps up when know one will even if they end up standing alone. Many different circumstances have occurred in high school when you might be tempted to doing things against your standards or morals and I have shown my true leadership qualities by standing by my standards and sometimes that required me to be the only one or the first one to do that. My leadership in action! I have been involved in many different organizations at my high school including: -Student Council -Key Club -Interact Club -National Honor Society -National Art Honor Society -Blue Blazers -T.A.F.E. All of these clubs have given me opportunities to learn about leadership skills and Interact club specifically gave me the opportunity to attend a life changing camp called camp RYLA this summer and it taught me how to be a leader and how I can incorporate that into my present life and future life. I learned about different personalities and how I can work with all of those different personalities and how to step out of my comfort zone and try new things. Student Council is a student run organization and I have been given that chance to lead different events and take a leadership position.
